Sept. 16th 2011 - RUS Release of Funds Notification Received!
Today, we received our formal notice that our grant/loan funds have been released from the Federal USDA RUS program. What does it mean? Very simply that we can now begin the process of drawing funds to pay for construction, equipment, and other services in our efforts to build our communities high speed broadband networks! There are a few minor environmental hurdles yet to overcome, and the contracts are pretty extensive that we have to fill out and submit, but we are one very large step in the right direction with this notification. We estimate that we will be able to begin core facilities and initial systems tests Q1 2012. Happy Friday everyone that has waited so patiently for this! Great work Team SyncSouth! Nov. 10th 2010 - One Georgia Grant Funding Confirmed!
OneGeorgia announced today that SGRITA has been awarded $400,000 grant to extend our network into Seminole and Terrell County. This grant award is matched by $80,000 in cash form SGRITA. This grant will allow SGRITA to extend our core backhaul network into these Counties. As with our original project, this is the first step in the process of extending rural last mile service. SGRITA's Board members and others are invited to the public announcement in Dublin, GA on December 15, 2010 at 2PM. Following the OneGeorgia award ceremony will be an optional reception for Governor Sonny Purdue from 3:30PM to 5:00PM. Also, SGRITA is specifically being recognized during the award ceremony for our previous OneGeorgia project. SGRITA is highlighted in this year's OneGeorgia's Annual Report. As such, we will be congratulated at the meeting for a job well done followed by short video documenting many of SGRITA's successes.
